The Twenty-Second Session of the ICG/PTWS was hosted by Instituto Oceanográfico de la Armada (INOCAR) of Ecuador on 17-20 September 2007. An International Tsunami Mitigation Workshop hosted by the ICG/PTWS, IUGG-Tsunami Commission, and INOCAR took place from 14-15 September 2007 .

The 6th International Workshop on Tsunami Mitigation: New Insights in Tsunami Research, Preparedness, Warning and Mitigation took place on 14-15 September 2007 in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The Workshop was organized by the IOC, IUGG-Tsunami Commission, and INOCAR.
