Activities | The principal responsibility of NMEFC is to produce, issue a wide range of marine environment and disaster prediction products including warnings, bulletins, and daily & long-term (including weekly, monthly, seasonal and annual) forecasts. The forecasting areas cover the internal seas and territorial seas of the whole country, all other sea areas under the jurisdiction of the People's Republic of China, and the global oceans. These products are delivered to the public and disaster-prevention authorities so that appropriate actions can be taken against possible hazards. Besides, MDFWD operates as the main facilities that assess the impacts of marine disasters on society and economics.Currently, there are four sub-divisions in MDFWD, which are in charge of stormsurge, sea waves, tsunami and sea ice, respectively. |
